Margaret Okodua

Dr. Okodua began her career as a banker, but made a transition into nursing, and holds a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Governors State University, and numerous other degrees in the field from institutions like North Park University and Chicago State. She is also a graduate of the City Colleges of Chicago. Currently, Dr. Okodua works in public health nursing with the Chicago Dept. of Public Health. She has experience as a healthcare case manager, as nurse practitioner, and as an educator. She also served as the 10th president of the Nigerian Nurses in North America (NANNNA). Discussion includes nursing leadership, facing adversity as an African immigrant, the importance of diverse black identities, and healthcare activism both at home in the US and abroad in Africa.
