Her career has included work in academia as a nursing instructor, and as hospital nurse working throughout the Chicago metro region in hospital leadership. Discussion includes religion, Dr. Norman’s childhood growing up in the south side of Chicago attending Dunbar Academy, and her time spent as a student at the Grand Hospital School of Nursing and the racial adversity she faced during her time there. This interview is the first of two conducted with Dr. Norman. Interviewer was Karen Flynn.
