Angelique Richard

Dr. Angelique Richard is the Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Nursing Officer at RUSH University Medical Center. She received her training at the RUSH University College of Nursing, and also holds a PhD from UIC’s College of Nursing. She began her career in nursing working at RUSH as a nurse in the oncology ward. Richard’s tenure has largely been spent in leadership roles across a number of hospitals in the Chicago metro and the East Coast, where her focus has been on developing nursing departments across a range of hospitals and settings, from unionized hospitals to underfunded inner-city institutions. Discussion includes experience as a nursing student, oncological nursing, the complexities of hospital leadership, covid-19, and mentoring nurses of color. Interviewer was Gwyneth Franck.
